I always use this gel because it defines your curls, and makes your hair manageable instead of hard and brittle like other gels do. I really recommend this gel to anyone who is natural and is looking for curl definition,and manageability, and very soft hair

I honestly had forgotten how wet and sticky the stuff was! LoL! I do like that it defines curls and even allows ME to do a wash n go. But the stickiness can get to be a little too much. I guess you could use less and that may help, because it really does make your hair soft and keeps it moisturized and shiny. It really doesn't have any real hold, so if that's something you want, you'll have to use another styling gel/product over it, and I'm not sure how it would react to a creamy product. You can use a leave in with no issues of flaking or "white balls", or at least I've never had any.

My first experience with this gel was during my jheri curl days. It kept that curl nice and WET! LoL, which now that I think of it, I didn't care for but it had the best shine of all the products I'd tried. I use the long aid activator mixed with eco styler gel. I mix it 70/30 with the eco being the biggest part and OMG !!! It makes the prettiest curls that are soft and lovely. It never dries crunchy or greasy when used this way. I also apply the LA alone when I want to wear my afro. It keep my fro soft and moisturized for atleast 3 days with one application. This stuff is a goldmine that I am happy to have found for my NATURAL AFRICAN AMERICAN HAIR...
