When I read the reviews of this product, I was so excited to try it! Unfortunately, it did not live up to my expectations.

My hair looked AMAZING in the hours just after I used it. I had beautiful curls that were not frizzy or "crispy" from product. The only problem is that this product just doesn't have the staying power to last all day, and within 5 or 6 hours, my hair looked like a frizzy, fluffy, matted mess. Initially I thought I was just having a bad hair day, so I decided to use the product for one week, but every day it was the same story -- beautiful, non-frizzy, non-crispy curls in the morning, and a frizzy fluffy mess in the afternoon.

I have "princess" hair out of necessity more than out of choice. My hair is so curly that it is necessary for me to keep my hair booty length to avoid lion syndrome. Most products I have tried have left my hair dull and feeling brittle. I am of mixed race so I gave "ethnic" hair lotions a try for a while but I couldn't stand the smell and most of the time my hair ended up looking unwashed. I gave this lotion a try due to a $3 off coupon and I could not be happier with the results. One bottle lasted me three months. THREE MONTHS. With princess, booty length hair people. Here's what I do: I only wash my hair at night, never in the day. I work about a quarter sized amount of the lotion through my hair with my fingers. You want the majority of the lotion spread over the body and ends of your hair. After this I bend over and flip my hair. Marc Anthony True Professional Strictly Curls Curl Defining Lotion is a mid-priced product that works relatively well: my curly-haired niece gave me a tube to try. The product claims to have been perfected by world champion hair stylist Marc Anthony, whoever he is when he's at home, and enriched with Silk Protein and Vitamin E: so that it claims to be able to eliminate frizz and repel humidity. Well, I don't know about that, but it will give those of us who are curly-haired a look we can live with, without frizz, generally for at least a day -- me, it gives a head of small, pretty, defined curls. And that's the best I can hope for in the long, hot, humid local summers, when every day is a bad hair day. I've found no hair product that holds for more than a day, and I do seem to remember that on the very worst days, my hair, with this product, might actually not have made it until sundown.
