A wonderful product when used correctly,

I have been using this product for about two years now. As I read the reviews written by other users I felt I had to write my own so that people would have an accurate review written by someone who has used the product more than one time. This product is wonderful WHEN USED CORRECTLY. Most people who try this product once or twice have the exact same impression of the product...they believe it leaves their hair wet all day and if they blow dry it their hair is left both crunchy and flaky. Now I will tell you why. You are making the classic mistake that most people make when 'trying out a product'; you have applied too much of the product to your hair in the hopes of forcing enough product into your hair so that it looks like a jeri-curl. This product is meant to be used sparingly, you are not suppose to use half of the jar on your head at once. No wonder your hair is 'crunchy', 'wet all day', 'flaky' and 'slimy' when you go to wash it out. I have thick and long hair (at least 4 inches...Read more

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Miss Jessie's Curly Pudding - 8 oz (Misc.)
I purchased the MJCP after viewing the results on their website. I have natuaral, meaning hair without relaxer or any chemical processes. I normally wear my blown out afro style or braids...and my natural hair has a "s' curl pattern. "S" not "Z"...so I purchased...and for the price...buying from Amazon was by far the least expensive including shipping. The MJ website charges like 28 dollars and another 13 for shipping...should have been the first red flag. The stuff has the strongest grape scent ever, made my hands itch like crazy. After applying, following the video and written instructions...my hair was a matted, flaky, grape smelling hard mess. My hair felt dry and brittle...it was terrible. My 2 daughters have different hair types so I tried it on them as well...hoping that my hair was just too coarse...well same result. This product is shameful..full of baby oils and vaseline...terrible. Its a high priced tub of not good for my hair. I'm really dissapointed becuase of...Read more

Only good thing is the Smell,
June 22, 2010 Ezinwanyi (Dallas, TX USA) - See all my reviews

I used this product on myself and my 2 children. This product make white flakes and I only used a LITTLE. I tried it dry and I tried it wet and I tried it slightly damp. I looks white until it dries, but it leaves horrible white flakes in the hair and it doesn't moisturize or define the curls.
Now I have to say that I LOVE the smell, but it made not a difference on our hair that would be worth the price. I have given it to a friend who the product seems to work on her hair, but she is mixed and has very wavy and thick hair. So maybe it is for mixed persons and not for straight up Kinky hair.
I recommend trying Qhemet Biologics Burdock Root Butter Creme or Oyin's Burnt Sugar Pomade or Whipped Butter. Those 2 lines have been great.
