This review is from: Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Hair And Scalp Treatment Unisex, 16.9 Ounce (Misc.) Every winter, I'd have to decide whether to live with an itchy, flaky scalp (yuck) or use a medicated shampoo that would destroy the flakes and turn my hair into a frizzy mess. To be honest, I wasn't sure which was worse! I was looking around for an alternative that would soothe my itchy scalp without making my hair feel like straw. I stumbled onto this hair/scalp treatment, and figured I'd give it a try. What a great find! The product itself is a rich, thick cream. I've got thick hair, so it takes a bit of work to massage the cream all the way down into my scalp, but it's worth the few extra minutes in the shower to step out with hair that's soft and conditioned and a scalp that's itch-free. The essential oils (tea tree and peppermint) leave behind a pleasant tingle that lets me know I've really gotten the product rubbed thoroughly into my scalp. Smells fantastic, too! My hair feels great, and my scalp does too. No itching, no flaking, no frizz! Yay! 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful: By Cup of Tea (Hoboken, NJ United States) - See all my reviews 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Hair And Scalp Treatment Unisex, 16.9 Ounce (Misc.) This is a serious treatment for an irritated scalp, or dandruff. It could help a lot of people, it's helped a family member and me. This contains Salicylic acid, a treatment for more severe irritation that one might try after finding other treatments don't work like Head and Shoulders (selenium sulfide), Selsun Blue or Redkin (zinc pyrithione) This same ingredient is also contained in Neutrogena T-Gel if you want to try an alternative. Please don't be scared off by the sound of the ingredient "salicylic acid", it is the same stuff they put in acne medicines and very similar chemically to aspirin! If you're not afraid of aspirin you shouldn't be afraid of this. There's a bunch of other oils in there to calm the scalp, like lavender, jojoba, tea tree. It's got a strong dollop of peppermint oil which sure wakes you up. Tea tree oil kills bacteria and is tingly, envigorating... i don't how much it really helps with scalp...Read more |
